New journal output from our Division of Digital Strategy and Innovation Learning Research Center, on using virtual reality (VR) to enhance perspective-taking and understanding of blindness. This paper reports on a pilot study based on a series of workshops conducted on our campus and intended to give participants the opportunity to experience a VR non-fiction story, documenting the experience of a man who became blind after years of deteriorating vision. Findings revealed that VR helped improve the perception of blind individuals’ productivity. Learn more about our research conducted with faculty fellow Dr. Regina Kaplan-Rakowski.
