ADVISORY & COLLABORATIVE COMMITTEES

DSI is dedicated to providing services, processes, and innovations that are driven by those we serve. By engaging with our faculty, staff, and students we are better able to provide the world-class working and learning environments that are necessary for success. These committees and advisory boards are instrumental in ensuring we deliver what is truly needed. 

 

Digital Strategy Advisory Committee

The purpose of the Digital Strategy Advisory Committee (DSAC) is to engage with one another and the campus around issues and needs related to the operation of our digital strategy including: online courses and programs, blended learning, educational technology and future classrooms.

DSAC members will:
  1. Advise the Division of Digital Strategy and Innovation on strategic and policy issues related to UNT digital strategy
  2. Identify, and bring to the attention of administration, infrastructure and policy needs around teaching and learning, and student learning at a distance
  3. Serve as a voice for academic units in the development, maintenance, and improvement of innovative and online learning practice
  4. Discuss and make recommendations regarding CLEAR’s services
  5. Examine opportunities for innovative educational programs that our campus or its units should explore
  6. Explore enterprise opportunities and strategic partnerships

Graduate Student Innovation Advisory Board

The purpose of the Undergraduate Student Innovation Advisory Board (USIAB) is to provide a forum for UNT students to engage with one another and the campus around issues and needs related to the operation of our digital and innovative efforts including online courses and programs, blended learning, educational technology and future classrooms.

GSIAB members will:
  1. Generate ideas and suggestions for residential and online students that will enhance their academic experience at the university
  2. Provide feedback to the Office of the President on academic policies and initiatives related to online courses and educational technology
  3. Share their experiences with teaching, learning and technology and how the DSI can better serve them in their time at UNT

Gallup Committee for Belonging & Engagement

The mission of the Division of Digital Strategy and Innovation’s Gallup Committee for Belonging & Engagement is charged with facilitating a welcoming culture where belonging, engagement and inclusion are core competencies and intentionally valued through education and taking action on thoughtful, iterative and innovative practices and strategy.

Collaborative for UNT Online Faculty Fellows (CUFF)

Faculty Fellows in the Learning Analysis & Digital Research Centre (LADR) play a crucial role in the research and development activities of the Centre. They are the principal investigators of the research projects conducted in the Centre. The purpose of our research and development activities in the Centre is to inform, improve, and innovate digital learning and teaching practices, in both physical and virtual spaces.

CLAW Research & Design Lab (CRADL) Committee

CRADL is a DSI-charged group responsible for shepherding research and design related to active and collaborative learning in physical and virtual settings at UNT.

The comimttee will:
  1. Continue refining the Collaborative Learning and Active Workspaces (CLAW) framework in order to achieve classroom categorization beyond its current state; 
  2. Benchmark exemplary peer institutions and study successful implementations and infrastructure; 
  3. Examine innovative learning technology design approaches that fuel teaching innovation while ensuring adequate technical support to meet this goal;
  4. Research applications of collaborative and active learning and use the findings to the benefit of UNT across intersecting academic and administrative domains; 
  5. Work with DSI Faculty Professional Development to support the training in and adoption of these newer approaches and engage Faculty as collaborative partners in this process.
