This presentation showcases our efforts assessing the UX of blind users evaluating emerging tech, with Dr. Regina Kaplan-Rakowski and Jarrod Trovada. First, we briefly examined emerging applications and technologies that are assistive for blind and visually impaired (BVI) students. Second, we presented findings of a qualitative case study of a blind student sharing his daily challenges with learning online and his impressions of using emerging technologies. Third, the audience used some immersive technologies (i.e., smart glasses, mixed reality) in the context of learning experiences of BVI students.
